Russell was born in Canada and grew up in The United States. As a dual citizen, he spends most of his time in New York City.

As a kid, Russell started creating stop-go animations and editing videos with Final Cut Pro on his iMac. It was then he found his calling. 

Fast forward 10 years and Russell began his career as an assistant editor on the show Battle of the Bands.

That following year Russell was hired by Trillenium Media Group to manage their studio in downtown Vancouver and lead their post production staff on two TV shows.

Russell co-founded Wendel in 2010, a production company in Santa Monica.

At Wendel Russell was in charge of business operations and managing all aspects of client relationships, production, post production, sales and marketing.

Russell produced and edited the music video documentary Sing about me for Hip-Hop star Kendrick Lamar.

More recently Russell produced the Apple Support videos for Apple on YouTube here.
